NEW DELHI: Xerox Corporation on Tuesday announced the global launch of eight mono printers and multi-function printers (MFPs), the company’s first such event in India. It also plans to increase the number of channel partners in India and spend Rs. 20 crore on marketing and promotion of its product range in 2008.

Addressing a press conference after the launch here, Xerox Corporation’s Vice-President and General Manager (Desktop multifunction and printer business unit, Xerox Office Group), Carl Bothner, said the products first unveiled in India would be rolled out subsequently in 162 countries, underlining India as a strategic destination for the company.

The newly launched products range from small, cost-effective A4 printers to feature-rich monochrome MFPs and are targeted at the fast-growing small and medium businesses (SMB) segment. The cost of these products ranges from Rs. 17,000 to Rs. 3.17 lakh.

According to Xerox India Director (Office business group), Princy Bhatnagar, the company would add over 150 new channel and sales partners this year from the current 350.

“We also plan to expand our office business coverage to top 30 cities across India. We plan to reach out to Tier-II and Tier-III markets to accelerate the penetration in the SMB space. We will also be rolling out multi-city roadshows across top 15 non-metro cities to showcase our newly launched products. Our goal is to increase our market share and enhance participation in total laser market,” Mr. Bhatnagar added.
