A host of websites are offering help to students who have passed Plus-Two in deciding the course and even the college. Key in the Plus-Two registration number and one will get her aggregate marks for medicine and engineering and the number of students who have the same aggregate and those who have a higher one. “This is not the final rank list. But, a rank analysis that can help students know whether they stand a better chance in the medical or engineering counselling, before the list is released in the final week of June. We started this last year and it has been a great hit (897 in the traffic rank according to alexa.com). We load the aggregates just two hours after the results are announced,” says R.V. Srivatsan, Director of Adroit Techno Solutions, who has hosted the site. According to alexa.com there have been 25,146 hits on May 19. Online counsellingThe kalvimalar.com, started this year, too extends this facility. The educationinfoindia.com offers facility for online counselling. Students can talk to experts who will guide them on the course best suited to them, based on their marks and aptitude. Some other sites that warrant a mention are winentrance.com, admissiondates.com, collegesindia andwordpress.com The admissionsindia.blogspot.com gives admission details of various courses in India – institutions, courses offered and eligibility criteria. These are some of the websites besides those that are hosted by the institutions themselves like annauniv.edu and tnau.ac.in.
