RDX not used in Jaipur blasts

Special Correspondent

NEW DELHI: A week after the Jaipur serial bomb blasts, which left more than 65 persons dead and 150 injured, a detailed analysis by the National Security Guard (NSG) and forensic tests revealed that RDX was not used.

NSG sources said no traces of RDX were found at the sites. The explosives, neatly packed in bags, were planted on cycles. The sources said the explosive devices contained mainly Neogel-90, an explosive comprising ammonium nitrate.

The Bomb Data Squad of the NSG said all the splinters, mainly comprising cycle ball bearings, flew only in one direction. A similar modus operandi was used in the Hyderabad blasts last year.
