‘BJP’s outfits engineered price rise’

Special Correspondent

BANGALORE: The KPCC Campaign Committee Chairman and former Deputy Chief Minister Siddaramiah on Wednesday alleged that the price rise was engineered by the socio-political outfits of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) by exerting influence on traders to hoard and speculate on essential commodities.

Mr. Siddaramaiah told presspersons that the BJP had directed its various wings to engineer price rise, affecting the lives of the people, especially the poor in the country.

He said the Congress would muster enough numbers in the Legislative Assembly to form a government on its own and there was no question of depending on other parties. In the first phase, it would get 46 seats, 30 in the second and 40 in the final phase. The party would cross the magic figure, he added.
