“Gurgaon is India’s future”

Meeting: Canadian High Commissioner David Malone with Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal in Chandigarh on Wednesday.

CHANDIGARH: Canadian High Commissioner David Malone on Wednesday described Gurgaon as “India’s future” and said Canadian entrepreneurs were impressed with Gurgaon in particular and Haryana in general.

Mr. Malone, who made a courtesy call on Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda here, said that the Canadian automobile industry was aware of Haryana’s success in the automobile sector.

He also appreciated the State’s achievements in the agriculture sector.

Mr. Malone also called on Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal.

Referring to Haryana’s economic success under the leadership of Mr. Hooda, he said: “I am confident Haryana delivers what it promises.”

Mr. Hooda said that when he became the Chief Minister about three years ago, Haryana was No. 14 in the country in terms of per capita investment, but now it was the No. One State in India with the highest per capita investment.
