Arjun Singh lauds Sonia

LUCKNOW: Union Human Resource Development Minister Arjun Singh on Wednesday lauded the Gandhi family at a function here to mark the 17th death anniversary of the former Prime Minister, Rajiv Gandhi.

Mr. Singh said the Congress was fortunate that Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi had stepped in to fill the void created by the untimely demise of the former Prime Minister. Since they had ensured that the unfinished task of Rajiv Gandhi was fulfilled, the onus was now on the Congress workers to contribute their mite for taking the party forward.

Much significance was attached to Mr. Singh’s presence as the chief guest at the “Sankalp Divas” function for paying homage to Rajiv, organised by the Backward Classes Department of the Pradesh Congress Committee.
