Aditya, Rahul and Shyam impress

KOCHI: Left-arm spinner V.S. Aditya and medium-pacers Rahul Ramanan and Shyam Chander hogged the limelight as South Zone bowled out North for 62 and gained a huge advantage on the rain-hit second day of the Kerala State under-16 inter-zone cricket championship at the St. Paul’s College Ground, Kalamassery, on Wednesday.

The action could begin only after 2 p.m. but it did not take long for South to bowl out North — overnight 25 for five — for a paltry 62. South, which made 234 in its first innings, ended the penultimate day at 64 for four with Navaneeth batting on 37.

The scores:

South 234 & 64 for four in 30 overs (Navaneeth 37 n.o.) vs. North 62 in 22.4 overs (V.S. Aditya three for five, Rahul Ramanan three for 25, Shyam Chander four for 30). — Principal Correspondent
