Convincing win for CFSC

UDHAGAMANDALAM: Cordite Factory Sports Club (CFSC) posted a five-wicket win over Kents Cricket Club in the Canara Bank-NDCA first division league, for the M.A. Chidambaram Rolling Trophy, at the HPF grounds here on Wednesday.

The scores:

First division: Kents CC 155 in 35.1 overs lost to Cordite Factory SC 156 for five in 34.4 overs (R. Harihara Subramanian 41 n.o.).

Second division: Green City CC 134 in 21.4 overs bt Mechanics CC 87 in 26 overs (A. George four for 17).

Sports festival

At Valparai, the Coimbatore wing of the Sports Development Authority of Tamil Nadu will conduct a summer sports festival for boys and girls at the Valparai GHSS on May 24 and 25.

The two-day event will have competitions in football and athletics.

Entries for the football event can be given at the Valparai Taluk Office on May 22. — Sports Reporter
