PERIAKULAM: Indian Overseas Bank (Chennai) regained the P.D. Chidambara Sourya Narayanan memorial Trophy after a gap of two years with a 86-55 win over Indian Army (Delhi) in the final match of the semifinal round-robin league in the 49th annual all-India basketball tournament, sponsored by Jeppiaar College of Engineering and organised by Silver Jubilee Sports Club here on Tuesday. It was IOB’s third win in the semifinal league. Indian Army finished runner-up. ICF finishes thirdIntegral Coach Factory (Chennai) beat CRPF (Jalandhar) 105-85 to take the third spot. S.J. Chiru, District Collector, Theni, presided over the prize distribution function and I. Periasamy, Minister for Revenue, gave away the prizes. Special awards: Player of the tournament: Arockia Babu (Indian Army); Promising youngster: R. Vinoth Kumar (ICF). The results (semifinal league): IOB 86 (Vineeth Revi Mathew 10, Mihir Pandey 10, Robinson 16) bt Indian Army 55 (Jairam Jat 24, Jestwant Singh 17, Arockia Babu 20). ICF 105 (R. Vinoth Kumar 40, Sikkander Oli Raj 15, M. Vinoth Kumar 17) bt CRPF 85 (Dalbeer Singh 16, Rajbeer Singh 15).
