Munda calls on Naveen

BHUBANESWAR: Former Chief Minister of Jharkhand and its Leader of Opposition Arjun Munda has assured that he and his party would ensure that Oriya gets the status of second official language in his State. Mr. Munda, who called on Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik here on Tuesday during his visit to the State, lamented that though his Cabinet had approved the decision, the Government is yet to implement it. Talking to the media at the Secretariat, he disclosed that he has requested Mr. Patnaik to provide the required land for establishment of Jharkhand Bhawan in Puri.

Mr. Munda also urged the Chief Minister to have provision of reservation of seats in the medical colleges of Orissa for Oriya students of Sareikalla and Kharsuan regions of Jharkhand. He further discussed with Mr.Patnaik on establishment of an archery academy in Orissa, he revealed.
