Three killed in different accidents
ARUPPUKOTTAI: Three persons were killed in two different road accidents here on Wednesday.
In the first incident, a staff bus of a private mill fell into a roadside channel after the driver lost control of the speeding vehicle at a sharp curve near Palayampatti. G. Balakrishnan (70), an assistant, who was travelling in the bus, was killed on the spot. A pedestrian, K. Selvaraj, was killed after he was hit by the bus. Five injured passengers were admitted to a private hospital.
In another accident, S. Natarajan (50) was knocked down when the driver of a SETC bus took the vehicle in the reverse direction. The deceased had gone behind the bus to attend to nature’s call, when the driver stopped the vehicle to check the air pressure in the tyres.
