The total pass percentage is 82.93
MANGALORE: Girls have scored over boys in the second semester undergraduate examinations conducted by St. Aloysius College in April-May 2008. The college announced the results on Wednesday. Toppers in B.A., B.Com., B.Sc., BSW, BCA and BBM examinations are all girls. The college recorded a pass percentage of 82.93 , according to a press release by Swebert D’Silva, principal of the college, and A.M. Narahari, Registrar (Evaluation). Of the 873 students who appeared for the examinations, 724 had passed. Prof. Narahari said that of the total number of students who appeared for the examinations, only 30 per cent were girls. The press release said that a software had helped the college to tabulate the marks and declare the results fast. “Results have been declared within 15 days of conducting the last examination,” it said. The college has reserved 30 per cent marks for internal assessment. Prior to obtaining autonomy, the internal assessment marks was 20 per cent. The college obtained autonomy in the beginning of the academic year 2007-08. The pass percentage for the B.A. examination was 78.63, for the B.S.W. examination it was 84.38 and for the B.Com. examination it was 85.26. The pass percentage was 85.62 per cent for BBM examination, 78.79 per cent for B.Sc. examination and 92.06 per cent for BCA examination.
