More centres for distributing EPICs

HYDERABAD: The District Election Officer on Wednesday instructed the Zonal Commissioners especially nominated to oversee door-to- door distribution of EPICs to identify the required number of distribution centres and open them in Government buildings to complete the process of giving out the remaining cards.

He claimed that 60 per cent EPICs were distributed in the three constituencies of Khairatabad, Secunderabad and Musheerabad. The election officials were asked to furnish the proposed details of locations of the distribution centres prominently at important places.

Thirty to 40 polling stations should get encompassed into one distribution centre in addition to continuation of regular DPL centres and the process should be completed by May 25. Corrections or errors cropped in the EPICs if any, would be rectified by submission of a prescribed application form number eight to the Electoral Registration Officer/ Deputy Municipal Commissioners concerned.

The Election Commission has deputed Subbaiah ( Ph.no: 09873693338 ) as special observer to monitor and to coordinate issues related to by-elections works in Musheerabad and Secunderabad constituencies, a press release said.
