This Day That Age
President Nasser of the United Arab Republic is one of those men “who gave to history a new course”, Prime Minister Nehru told an Egyptian journalist in an interview in New Delhi recently. Mr. Edgard Gallan, Editor of the French Language paper Le Journal D Egypte, who visited India as a guest of the Indian Government, had asked Mr. Nehru about his close friendly collaboration with President Naseer. The journalist quoted Mr. Nehru in his paper as replying “It is because in my first contact I understood and appreciated the qualities of Mr. Nasser and I have a long experience of people and politics.”
