The plenary session of the seventh conference on Community Development in Mount Abu on May 21 adopted the recommendations of the Special Committees on Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and Co-operation. The conference acceptedthe recommendation of the Committee on Agriculture that mass awakening for increasing agricultural production had still to be created. A view expressed during the debate was that Extension Officers, who were mostly agricultural graduates, should have some field experience before obtaining degrees. With that end in view, it was suggested that universities should be approached to give agricultural graduates some kind of apprenticeship and make field service a condition for obtaining degrees.
