In acknowledgement: TDP president N. Chandrababu Naidu participates in the road show in Nirmal on Thursday NIRMAL (ADILABAD DT.): Only the exposure to oppressive heat over the last one month has rendered his complexion a shade darker otherwise, Telugu Desam Party (TDP) president N. Chandrababu Naidu seems to be full of energy. Somewhat unusually, he shared a laugh with media persons on Thursday as he emerged from his resting place to address a press conference before launch of the road shows in Nirmal. Referring to the heat conditions, he jocularly accused the mediamen of ‘deserting’ him even before he had ended the first phase of his Mee Kosam yatra in the district on May 13. “I was indisposed a little bit when I left the district. After recovery I am back here,” he said. The TDP president’s election speeches harped on the failures of the UPA Government at the Centre in controlling inflation and the alleged violation of model code of conduct (MCC) by Congressmen in the State including Ministers. He also criticised the Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) and Congress for what he called a drama over the separate Telangana issue. Mr. Naidu warned the Union Government of inflation touching 9 per cent unless some drastic measures to control price rise are initiated. He said the gap between demand and supply has increased under the UPA Government. He quoted the example of food crisis facing the nation. Referring to the alleged violation of the MCC by Congress Ministers, he said the Government was desperate and frustrated and hence did not stop committing the violation. He demanded the Election Commission to take stringent action on those who have violated the code. About the drama on Telangana issue, the TDP president said TRS president K. Chandrashekhara Rao said he will ‘bring’ Telangana while Congress said it will ‘give’ Telangana. Such talk makes it look like a drama was being enacted, he added. At his road shows in Nirmal town and later at Mamda, Khanapur and other places people represented him the matter of price rise. Mr. Naidu assured them of setting things right once he comes back to power. Party candidate S. Venugopalachary also accompanied.
