BHUBANESWAR: Internationally acclaimed sand sculptor Sudarsan Pattnaik is on a new mission again. He is off to the Russian capital city of Moscow to take part in a campaign on global warming . Sudarsan has been invited to represent India in the first Moscow international sand sculpture championship being held in Moscow from May 24 to 31. “I plan to sculpt a 20-feet high sand sculpture highlighting global warming. I will show the Hindu god Ganesh sailing across oceans spreading awareness about global warming. I believe this would be a befitting appeal by an Indian to the world community on the most important issue that concerns the future of the earth,” said the Puri-based master sculptor before his departure for Moscow on Thursday. Ten nations are participating in this international show that includes Italy, Ireland, The Netherlands, Denmark, Japan, Spain, Canada and host Russia besides India. “Global warming will trigger tidal waves that will cause devastation to the coastal life,” explained Sudarsan who joined hands with the Greenpeace Group to campaign against global warming.
