THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Post-production work of eight animation films made by children below 15 years who attended the summer camp organised by Vismayas Max, the animation studio and academy run by actor Mohanlal in the capital, is nearing completion. The story, screenplay, direction, layout, animation and storyboard of the films, each lasting one minute, had been done solely by the children. The technical support was provided by noted caricaturist Banerjee and animator Deepak Raju of Vismayas Max. From short stories, deforestation, global warming, water conservation to environmental pollution figure as the themes. The style and approach adopted by the children surprised the experts in the field, according to academy director K.D. Shibhu. The films include ‘Tick tick tick’ by Sarath, ‘Bee forestation’ by Elsa, ‘Scarecrow returns’ by Arjun, ‘Honeymoon ambulance’ by Shilpa Sivaraman, ‘Thirsty Toons’ by Shikha Sivaraman, ‘Every dog has a day’ by Swetha Panampally, ‘Global warming’ by Nikhita Jayakumar and ‘Legend of the Milkyway’ by Anandhan. The camp, inaugurated by actor Suresh Gopi, will conclude on May 25. All the eight films will be marketed internationally. Mr. Mohanal will inaugurate the first screening of the films in June. The animation academy has also plans to introduce the films in CDs.
