Plans on anvil for developing Horsley Hills

MADANAPALLE: Forest Minister Satrucharla Vijayaramaraju has instructed the forest officials to prepare proposals for the all-round development of the Horsley Hills and forward the same to the State Government for its approval.

Disclosing this at a press conference here on Thursday He said that at kamala fruit (oranges) orchards were raised in 20 acres at the foot of the hills and another 200 acres would be brought under its cultivation. The other proposals include, raising teak wood trees, developing zoological park, boating in the Manas Sarovar, undertaking repairs to old buildings and development of greenery. Laying pipelines to supply drinking water will be taken up shortly. Additional care will be taken to protect the birds and small animals in the children park. The Natural Study Centre will be reopened and animal exhibition theatres will be commenced. The Forest Chief Conservator S.S. Yadav, DFO Nageswar Rao, Sub DF Jameer Ahmed and Range officer Viswanath participated.
