One-day workshop on model making

Chennai: The Tamil Nadu Science and Technology Centre (TNSTC) will organise a one-day workshop on model making for students of classes VIII, IX and X on Saturday.
The art of designing working models will be taught through practical sessions. The batch will comprise 40 students to be admitted on first come, first served basis.
The TNSTC will also offer a weekend course on general astronomy for four weeks beginning Saturday.
Those interested in astronomy and astrophysics may participate.
Topics such as the celestial coordinate systems, solar system, lunar studies, stars, galaxies, cosmology and use of telescopes will be covered.
The programme will be conducted at the B.M. Birla Planetarium on Gandhi Mandapam Road on four Saturdays and Sundays (3 p.m. – 6 p.m.).
