Modernised bank branch inaugurated

TIRUVANNAMALAI: Union Bank of India has opened its fully air-conditioned modernised networked new branch at Modaiyur in Polur Taluk on May 21.
Inaugurating the branch, P.Y.Nagar, Field General Manager, Union Bank of India, Chennai, said that Modaiyur branch was the first branch in Tiruvannamalai district where all infrastructure had been provided. So far Core Banking Facility had been provided for 2,500 branches. K.Saiprasad, Assistant General Manager, Salem Region, spoke about the development of the Modaiyur branch and also about the regional growth. He said that the target for agricultural finance had been fully achieved by the Modaiyur branch. An ATM centre was also declared open on the occasion.
S.Ramasamy, AGM, said that the Village Knowledge Centre at Modaiyur was helping the farmers for their seasonal needs of agricultural inputs.
He also explained SMS banking, net banking facilities for tax payment, railway ticket booking and other facilities available at Modaiyur branch.
On the occasion, revolving fund and Economic Assistance Loan were given to the members of 40 self-help groups. A total amount of Rs.70 lakh was also given as agricultural loan.
