Open heart surgery performed

PUDUCHERRY: Cardio Thoracic surgeons at Mahatma Gandhi Medical College and Research Institute have performed an open heart surgery on a patient with Atrial Septal Defect.

The institute in a release said a 23-year-old male patient was admitted to the hospital on May 12. The surgery, Pericardial Patch Closure, was performed on the patient on May 17. An abdominal aortic aneurysm case was done at the institute last week.
