Schools fete

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Minister for Local Self-Government Paloli Mohammed Kutty has called upon civic bodies and schools to make ‘pravaeshanotsavam’ and free distribution of textbooks on the reopening day on June 2 a success.

‘Praveshanotsavam’ is organised in schools to welcome students on the first day of every academic year. Textbooks would be distributed free-of-cost to students up to eighth standard in government and aided schools under the Sarva Siksha Abhiyan, an official release said.
