Counsels to visit Mullaperiyar dam

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Counsels appearing for Kerala in the Mullaperiyar case before the Supreme Court Mohan Katarki and E. Prakash will visit the dam on Saturday for an on-the-spot assessment of various aspects of the dispute.

They will also hold discussions with Minister for Water Resources N.K. Premachandran after the visit. In the case before the court, which is slated for hearing after the summer vacations, Tamil Nadu has challenged Kerala’s dam safety law which stipulates a maximum water level of 136 feet for the reservoir.
