Easy win for Mohd. Azizuddin XI

HYDERABAD: Mohd. Azizuddin XI defeated Moinuddin XI 5-0 in the Talent Hunt football tournament (under-15), organised by the District Sports Authority of Hyderabad here on Friday.

Anshuman, Nikhil, Savio (2) and Thioraj were the scorers.

Mallesh nets twice

ECIL scored a 2-1 win over BHEL (Ramachandrapuram) in a ‘B’ division hockey league championship match at the AOC grounds here.

Winger Mallesh struck twice for the winner, while M. Ravinder reduced the margin.

Sheikpet PG wins

Sheikpet Play Ground won the boys’ volleyball title defeating SRT (Yakutpura) 25-15, 25-10 in the final of the GHMC inter-summer coaching centres sports meet here.

The results: Volleyball: Final: Sheikpet PG bt SRT (Yakutpura) PG 25-15, 25-10.

Football: Final: Maisaram PG bt Vulvarnagar PG (Secunderabad) 4-3.

Cricket: Quarterfinal: Moghalpura 62 bt Red Hills PG 30.

Big win for CCF

Cricket Coaching Foundation (Hyderabad) recorded a nine-wicket win over Birla Cricket Academy in the under-16 category of the all-India Pepsi-Imtiaz Cup invitation cricket tournament for juniors at Bangalore.

The scores: Open category: Cricket Coaching Foundation (Hyderabad) 169 for seven in 30 overs (Nikhilesh 65, V. Vinay Uttam 36, Aamu three for 30) vs. Best CC (Bangalore) 65 for three in 11.2 overs. Play abandoned due to rain.

U-16: Birla CA (Bangalore) 62 (V.L. Sashank four for 15, Ibrahim three for five) lost to CCF 63 for one.

Selection trials

Trials to select the Vizianagaram District under-19 cricket team will be held at the Vizzy Stadium, Vizianagaram from 8 a.m. on May 25.

Players born on or after Sept. 1, 1989 are eligible to appear for trials.

Interested have to report to the general secretary of the association G.V. Rama Chandra Raju at the venue along with age-proof certificate.
