New Metro stretch to open on June 4

NEW DELHI: The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation has announced that the newly commissioned Shahdara-Dilshad Garden stretch will be opened to the public on June 4.

The first line to be commissioned under the second phase of construction, it will be inaugurated on June 3 evening by Union Urban Development Minister Jaipal Reddy in the presence of Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit.

The Shahdara-Dilshad Garden line is being commissioned almost six months ahead of schedule.

The Shahdara-Dilshad Garden section is 3.1 km long and has three stations: Mansarovar Park, Jhilmil and Dilshad Garden.
