NTPC official drowns in Agra Canal

NEW DELHI: A 48-year-old NTPC official died after an accidental fall into the Agra Canal at Badarpur here.

According to the police, R. K. Garg was working at the site when some steps leading to the canal suddenly caved in. Mr. Garg lost his balance and fell into the canal. The body was fished out after a six-hour-long joint rescue operation by the Central Industrial Security Force, the Delhi Fire Service Department and the Flood Control Department.

Mr. Garg, posted as senior manager, had been working with NTPC since 1989. He was a resident of Noida.
