17 militants surrender in Dibrugarh

Dibrugarh: Seventeen militants on Friday surrendered before the Army here.

Led by the self-styled captain Pradeep Bora of the United Liberation Front of Asom’s 27 Battalion, the militants surrendered before Major General Jatinder Singh at the Dinjan Military Station.

They included 11 from the ULFA and two each from the NSCN(IM), the NDFB and the Karbi Longri National Liberation Front (KLNLF).

They surrendered three rifles, two guns, 10 pistols, a revolver, three grenades, seven magazines and 54 assorted pieces of ammunition. — PTI
