Miracle Foundation will hold weekend counselling sessions The facility will have well-trained, experienced staff BANGALORE: Exclusive facilities for de-addiction are few and far between. Those meant especially for women are even scarcer. According to an estimate, 92 per cent of women who want to give up alcohol or drugs do not get help because, quite often, stigma, shame and ignorance lead to denial and suppression of the problem. Miracle Foundation, a non-governmental organisation that caters exclusively to women addicts, is starting a series of weekend counselling sessions in Bangalore from Sunday. “This is the only treatment centre of its kind in the country. It is a facility meant only for women, managed by experienced, well-trained peer women. We have come together as we share similar experiences and have a desire to help other suffering women addicts through our experience, strength and hope,” says Divya Bajaj, trustee of the foundation. Those who wish to avail themselves of the free counselling facility can reach Miracle Foundation on 9902772571.
