Jewels, cash stolen

Special Correspondent

TAMBARAM: Gold jewels weighing about 25 sovereigns and Rs. 1.3 lakh in cash were stolen from a house in Rajaji Nagar coming under the Selaiyur police station’s limits. The burglary came to light on Friday when residents returned home. Rajagopal and his relatives had gone to their native village Ramapuram near Melmaruvathur to take part in a temple festival.

When he returned on Friday morning, he noticed the doors and almirah broken open and the cash and jewels burgled.
