Income ceiling for schemes raised

CHENNAI: The Tamil Nadu government on Friday raised the annual income ceiling for assistance under Moovalur Ramamirtham Ammaiayar Memorial Marriage Assistance Scheme, Maniammaiyar Memorail Widow Daughter Marriage Assistance Scheme, Annai Theresa Memorial Orphan Girl Marriage Assistance Scheme and Sivakami Ammaiyar Memorial Girl Children Security Scheme.

An official release said the income limit had been increased to Rs.24,000 from Rs.12,000.

The government has also increased the income limit from Rs.7,200 to Rs.24,000 for families seeking aid on the death of a breadwinner.
