Realtor’s murder accused arrested

Staff Reporter

NEW DELHI: A 26-year-old man allegedly involved in the murder of a property dealer outside Roseland Public School in neighbouring Gurgaon on May 1 has been arrested by the Crime Branch of the Delhi Police. The murder was fallout of an ongoing gang war, the police said. The incident took place when Nahar Singh had gone to drop his children to the school.

On Thursday, the Crime Branch received a tip-off that Sudhir, who was involved in the murder, would come to Mukarba Chowk on Outer Ring Road here. Subsequently, a trap was laid and the accused arrested.

During interrogation, Sudhir allegedly confessed to his involvement in the murder. According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime Branch) Anil Shukla, Sudhir belongs to a gang led by Kaushal, which is in constant war with another gang earlier headed by Sudesh.

Sudesh was gunned down by Kaushal’s men on December 18. Suspecting that Nahar Singh was associated with the rival gang, Sudhir and his accomplices Ramphal and Johny shot him dead. “Kaushal had given Sudhir Rs.10,000 to buy weapons,” Mr. Shukla said, adding that Ramphal had got himself arrested in another case to avoid detection.
