Cops’ kin killed in UP
NEW DELHI: Three bodies -- two belonging to relatives of policemen with the Special Cell of the Delhi Police -- were found dumped at Baghpat in Uttar Pradesh on Friday. The police suspect the hand of some western UP criminal gangs in the gruesome murders.
Inspector S.K. Giri’s nephew Puneet, Constable Anil’s brother Sunil and the third victim, Sudhir, were pursuing a post-graduate course at Meerut and had been staying in a hostel. While the bodies of two of the victims were found dumped in the boot of a Maruti Esteem car, the third was found inside the vehicle with gunshot injuries.
“It is possible that some criminal gang, whose members were arrested by the Special Cell, could have targeted the three,” said a senior police officer.
