Woman found murdered

BANGALORE: A 23-year-old woman was allegedly murdered by her husband at Govindapura in K.G. Halli police station limits on Thursday night. According to the police, Taslima Sultana was working in a shoe factory while her husband Ashfaq is a construction worker. Both were married 10 months ago. Ashfaq, who suspected Sultana’s fidelity, had frequent quarrels with her. When a fight broke out on Thursday night, Ashfaq allegedly hanged his wife and went out locking the house. Suspicious neighbours called the K.G. Halli police who discovered Sultana hanging. The police are on the lookout for Ashfaq, who is at large.

Two killed

Two men died when their scooter was hit by a multi-utility vehicle hired by a BPO firm near Al-Ameen College on Dr. H. Mari Gowda Road on Thursday.

According to the police, Javed Pasha (30) and Karim (28), both from Neelasandra, were returning after their work as caterers in a guest-house in Someshwaranagar.

Following the accident, they were first taken to a private hospital and then to the National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences, where they died of their injuries. The Wilson Garden traffic police have registered a case against Chandrashekar, the driver of the multi-utility vehicle.

Road death

A 30-year-old private company employee, who was riding a motorcycle, was killed when he dashed against a house near a junction in K.G. Halli on Friday. The police said the incident occurred when the victim Kevin D’Souza was on the way to his office around 1 a.m. D’ Souza died on the spot, the police said.

Cash and gold ornaments, in all about Rs. 2 lakh, were taken away from the house of a bank manager in Girinagar 3rd Stage on Thursday night.

The Girinagar police have registered a case.
