Two Fisheries officials suspended
Staff Reporter
Kakinada: Fisheries Department deputy director (Kakinada) K Rammohan Rao and assistant director (Amalapuram) N Seetarama Raju were placed under suspension by Commissioner of Fisheries Arvind Kumar on the charge of misuse of funds meant for rehabilitation of fisherfolks in Tallarevu mandal.
According to official sources, the Reliance Industries had released funds for compensating the fishermen families who were displaced by its gas terminal which is under construction but the money did not reach the targeted beneficiaries.
It was part of the relief and rehabilitation package promised for the fisherfolks whose livelihood was at stake due to the Reliance project. The above officials were accused of swindling the money.
