Sachar report: BJP plans campaign

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The State BJP would launch a fortnight-long campaign against the ‘wrong policies’ of the Central and State governments relating to the Sachar Committee recommendations.

Party State general secretary M.T. Ramesh told a news conference here on Saturday that the campaign would be from June 23 to July 6. Implementation of the report, he said, would lead to serious social repercussions by creating two types of citizens -- those who receive undue benefits and those who lose legitimate rights, he said.

Mr. Ramesh said the party State executive had also decided to hold mass dharnas at all district headquarters on May 28 to press for a CBI probe into the activities of Santhosh Madhavan.
