TRS candidate for Adilabad Lok Sabha constituency T. Madhusudhan Reddy going through the ‘Datye Panchang’ at his residence ADILABAD: The prevailing ‘moodam’ phase has not come as a cause of worry for candidates in Adilabad district. While those favoured by the stars like Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) candidate for Adilabad Lok Sabha constituency T. Madhusudhan Reddy have every reason to be happy, others like Telugu Desam Party’s (TDP) S. Venugopalachary and Congress party’s A. Indrakaran Reddy do not take the issue seriously. Star struck“This is ‘chandra moodam’ and the effect of ‘chandra dasha’ is least on ‘soorya dhasha’ to which I belong. My presiding deity is Saturn which will not harm me because I am in line with him,” explained Mr. Madhusudhan Reddy clearly demonstrating the level of his interest in the science of sun signs. “Madhusudhan Reddy’s guru is positioned at ‘panchasthanam’, according to his sun sign. He has ‘rajayoga’ in his name and his chances therefore for winning the byelection are the brightest,” predicted Mahesh Joshi, a well-known Purohit in Adilabad. He referred to the ‘Datye Panchanga’ published in Marathi from Pune. This ‘panchangam’ is used extensively in Adilabad along with the one written by Bhrahmabhatla Srinatha Sharma, a Siddhanti from Siddipet. Venugopalachary dismisses the idea of the stars influencing the results of the byelections. “ ‘Moodam’ and ‘raasi’ do not work so far as elections are concerned. The ‘moodam’ phase is a routine issue,” he observed. Borrowed luck“Though his stars are not favourable, what with the guru being positioned in ‘ashtasthanam,’ the TDP candidate is likely to experience a positive influence due to the stars favouring his party chief N. Chandrababau Naidu. Like in TRS president K. Chandrashekhara Rao’s case, Mr. Naidu’s guru is also positioned in ‘navasthanam’ which may bring luck to respective party candidates,” Mahesh Joshi foretold. Congress candidate A. Indrakaran Reddy’s guru is also positioned in ‘asthasthanam’ making his chances of winning the byelection rather slim. Chief Minister Y.S Rajashekhara Reddy does not seem to be providing any boost to his prospects as his own guru is positioned in third place which itself has weakened chances. Going by the ‘panchagams,’ it seems that even the stars are being swayed by the Telangana sentiment.
