Dinner no time for political message: Congress
Special Correspondent
NEW DELHI: AICC general secretary in charge of Uttar Pradesh Digvijay Singh on Saturday said the dinner hosted by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to mark the release of the UPA government’s ‘Report to the People’ was not an occasion for the Bahujan Samaj Party to send out a political message. Its MPs skipped the event.
Speaking to journalists here, Mr. Singh said all supporting parties of the UPA were invited to the dinner. Not attending the dinner “showed the mindset of the BSP. It is an indication of how they think.”
Asked about the Samajwadi Party MPs attending the dinner, he said, “That also indicates how they think.”
