Baseless, shocking, say Durranis

Noida: Dr. Anita Durrani on Saturday rejected as “wrong” and “baseless” the Noida police allegation that Rajesh Talwar had an extra-marital affair with her and that led to the murder of his daughter Aarushi and domestic help last week.

Both families had good relations, she said.

Dr. Anita Durrani and her doctor-husband Praful Durrani told journalists that what the police said was “very, very shocking. Everything is false. Nothing is true. All these things are baseless.”

The Durranis, who shared space with the dentist couple Talwars in their clinic, said they were like one good joint family.

“We depend upon the police but what they have said is all fraud,” said Dr. Praful Durrani.

Dr. Anita Durrani said she had known Dr. Rajesh Talwar for the past 13-14 years and they were good family friends. Aarushi was like a daughter, she said sobbing.

Asked why the police made the charge and whether it was made without any evidence, she said: “I don’t know. I can’t say.” — PTI
