HYDERABAD: Agriculture Minister N. Raghuveera Reddy has regretted that the Congress paid a heavy price in Karnataka Assembly elections by ignoring the winning chances of candidates in distribution of tickets. Reacting to the election results, he told a press conference here that the Congress committed a grave mistake in allocation of quotas to its leaders for the purpose of distributing the tickets among their followers. Nearly 60 to 70 tickets were distributed on that consideration. ‘Management failure’Mr. Reddy, who undertook election campaign on behalf of Congress in Tumkur and adjoining areas of Karnataka, said it was pure ‘management failure’ by leadership which cost the party dearly. Nonetheless, he expressed happiness that the tally of Congress in the new Karnataka Assembly went up. Gowda blamedHe held Janata Dal (Secular) president H.D. Deve Gowda fully responsible for the formation of BJP Government in Karnataka. Mr. Gowda rekindled the hopes of BJP by pulling down the Congress Government and then working out the Janata Dal (S) – BJP alliance. It was up to the secular forces to rethink their strategies in view of the dangerous trend set by Janata Dal (S).
