Police personnel injured

CHENNAI: M.K. Rathod, Superintendent of Police, Avadi Battalion, and his wife, Kalpana Nayak, formerly Superintendent of Police, Nagapattinam, and now posted at the Civil Supplies Department in Chennai, were injured in an accident on East Coast Road on Saturday evening. According to the Neelankarai police, Mr. Rathod, former Deputy Commissioner of Police, Adyar, and his wife, along with two other policewomen, were returning home when the driver of the government car they were in swerved to avoid a motorcyclist who took an unexpected right turn.
A private transport bus that was following the car rammed the vehicle. The police personnel and the motorcyclist, Raja, sustained injuries and were admitted to private hospitals .
