Prosecute RTC officials: Telugu Desam

Special Correspondent

Contends that use of bullet-proof bus by YSR amounts to breach of poll code

HYDERABAD: The Telugu Desam Party has sought action by the Chief Election Commissioner against Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy and the Vice-Chairman and Managing Director of APSRTC for violating the model code of conduct by utilising the facilities provided by the public undertaking.

In a letter to the CEC, M. A. Shariff, the TDP general secretary, demanded the prosecution of the two in accordance with the Representation of People’s Act.

Mr. Shariff contended that provision of a bullet-proof bus by APSRTC to Dr. Reddy, and its use by him, amounted to the misuse of official machinery and the violation of the code.
