SBI plans expansion
The State Bank of India is planning to open 100 branches in Andhra Pradesh during this financial year, its General Manager Partha Bhattacharya said here on Monday after inaugurating the bank’s 41st branch in the city, at Maddilapalem.
At present there were 926 branches of SBI in AP and the number would go past 1,000 by the year-end, Mr. Bhattacharya told reporters.
SBI was making efforts to increase its share in the market and also recruited staff to improve customer care, he said. There was no problem regarding sanction of tractor loans as the farmers were prompt in repayment, he added.
