WARANGAL/KARIMNAGAR: Chief Minister Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy, TDP president N. Chandrababu Naidu and TRS president K. Chandrasekhara Rao had a hectic schedule canvassing for their respective party candidates on Monday, the penultimate day for campaigning for the May 29 byelections. Rallies and public meetings addressed by them drew good response with people turning up in large numbers. Road shows galoreThe Chief Minister addressed 10 road shows covering Hanamkonda, Warangal, Parvathagiri, Mahabubbabad, Nellikuduru, Thorrur, Rayaparthy and Wardhannapet, while the TDP president took part in two meetings at Madikonda and Station Ghanpur. He stuck to his routine speech highlighting the initiatives and welfare schemes launched by his government to benefit every section of the society. Mr. Naidu said that the days of the Congress were numbered and UNPA was bound to play a key role in national politics in the near future. As for Mr. Rao, he rounded off the day with an impressive rally from Ambedkar Stadium to the SRR College grounds, where he addressed a well-attended public meeting. The TRS supremo was at his best, whipping up the Telangana sentiment. He garlanded a statue of Telangana Talli and paid floral tributes at the Martyrs Memorial.
