UPA-Left panel meeting postponed
Special Correspondent
NEW DELHI: A meeting of the United Progressive Alliance-Left joint committee on India-U.S. civilian nuclear deal, scheduled for May 28, has been postponed.
The Government has informed leaders of the Left parties that it would not be possible to hold the meeting as some Ministers, who are also members of the panel, would be travelling abroad during that period.
It is learnt that External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee, who is also the convener of the committee, and the Defence Minister, A. K. Antony, would be away on that day.
New date after consultation
The Left leaders said on Monday that the next date would be decided after consultations between them and the government.
