Youth drowns

KULITHALAI: A 19-year-old youth met with a watery grave near here on Tuesday. The police said that M. Kanagaraj of Pichampatti in Velliyanai police station limits in Karur district had come to take bath in the Cauvery at Mayanur along with five of his friends. After taking bath, all returned except Kanagaraj.

Immediately his friends informed the Mayanur police who in turn called in the Fire and Rescue Service personnel from Karur. After searching for a couple of hours, they fished out the body of Kanagaraj and sent it to Government Hospital for post mortem.
