‘Attack on daily unpardonable’

HYDERABAD: K.G. Kannabiran, president, People’s Union of Civil Liberties, has said that the vandalism leading to the attack on ‘Andhra Jyothi’ office premises was ‘unpardonable’ and ‘unjustified’.

In a statement here on Tuesday, he appealed to the Madiga Dandora leaders to express regrets for the ‘unruly’ conduct. “While it is open for Krishna Madiga and his supporters to prosecute or initiate steps open to them in law, it is not permissible for them to carry out the criminal assaultm,” he said.

Former BJP president M. Venkaiah Naidu termed the attack “highly undemocratic”. State BJP president Bandaru Dattatreya, the AP Working Journalists’ Federation, Journalists’ Association of AP, and CPI (ML) New Democracy also condemned the incident.
