In memoriam: Actor Nandamuri Taraka Ratna, TDP district president Byreddy Rajasekhar Reddy and former Minister K.E. Prabhakar garland the statue of NTR in Kurnool on Tuesday. KURNOOL: The TDP leaders and the cadre celebrated the 86th birth anniversary of N.T. Rama Rao here on Tuesday. Taraka Ratna, movie actor and grandson of NTR who was in the city for a film shooting garlanded the statue along with the leaders and later donated blood in the blood bank. TDP district president Byreddy Rajasekhar Reddy, former Minister K.E. Prabhakarand other leaders were present. A section of TDP leaders celebrated the anniversary at Kallur. Addressing the meeting Byreddy Rajasekhar Reddy recalled the service rendered by NTR to the people of the State and the entire Telugu-speaking community in the world. Also, he said NTR was instrumental for many revolutionary programmes in the State. Poor feedingKadapa Special Correspondent says: Telugu Desam Party activists led by district vice-president S. Subhan Basha washed the party’s founder N.T. Rama Rao’s statue with milk and profusely garlanded it here on NTR’s 86th birth anniversary on Wednesday. Mr. Basha and TDP State secretary S. Goverdhan Reddy organised poor feeding for about 2,000 persons. TDP Kadapa constituency in charge K. Sivananda Reddy said N.T. Rama Rao upheld the prestige of Telugu speaking people and he should be remembered forever. MLC M. Venkatasiva Reddy, party leaders G. Lakshmi Reddy Abdul Rauf, Rafiuddin and others participated.
