MP Govt. implements sub-plans for BPL families

Aimed at benefiting five lakh people from SCs, STs


‘Kapildhara scheme’ implemented on private lands, ‘Nandan Falodyan’ for horticulture development

‘Bhumishilp’ for land reform, ‘Nirmal Vatika’ sub-plan is for improving the environment


Bhopal: The Madhya Pradesh Government, under the National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme, is implementing beneficiary-oriented and community-oriented sub-plans for the Below Poverty Line families of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes and beneficiaries of land reforms and Indira Awas schemes.

A target has been fixed to benefit five lakh people, an official release quoting Minister for Panchayats and Rural Development Rustam Singh said. “Kapildhara scheme is being implemented on the private lands of beneficiaries, Nandan Falodyan for horticulture development, Bhumishilp for land reform and community-oriented Nirmal Vatika sub-plan is being implemented for improvement in environment and ensuring cleanliness,” Mr. Singh said.

Other community-oriented schemes included Shailparn, Resham, Vanya, Sahastra Dhara and Nirmal Neer. Under Kapildhara scheme alone,1.75 lakh beneficiaries have been selected. Wells are being dug on the lands belonging to 1.20 lakh beneficiaries. Khet-Talabs are being constructed for replenishing underground water table, apart from construction of masonry check dams, stop dams and minor reservoirs.

The beneficiaries selected under the scheme are those whose agricultural lands are devoid of any water source. Under Nandan Falodyan, more than 50,000 beneficiaries have been selected and 11.80 lakh saplings have been planted in about 70,000 hectare area at a cost of Rs 8.10 crore. PTI
