CPI stages demo

PUDUCHERRY: Functionaries of the Puducherry unit of the Communist Party of India (CPI) on Wednesday staged a demonstration in front of the Oulgaret municipal office to protest the delay in laying a road in Pudupet at Reddiarpalayam.

Secretary of Puducherry unit of the CPI N. Kalainathan said that a few months ago, the municipal authorities had assured the local councillor that the work to lay a road would be taken up immediately. However, no steps had been taken to fulfil the promise till now, he said.
